Funeral services for Louis Stripling are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth, said Kathy Cavins-Tull, vice chancellor of student affairs.

Stripling, 70, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound late Tuesday night, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner. The adjust professor had been teaching three classes this semester.

In addition to teaching classes in entrepreneurship and energy, Stripling served as an assistant director of the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center, said Homer Erekson, dean of the Neeley School of Business.

Erekson spoke of Stripling and his loss to the school of business in an email sent to students Wednesday.

“We will miss his positive and engaging spirit, and his commitment to his students both inside and outside the classroom,” Erekson wrote. “Please keep Professor Stripling’s family, friends and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers.”

Cavins-Tull said Stripling’s family would welcome students, faculty and staff to join them in the services.
