A big night from pitcher Alex Young helped TCU to a 3-1 victory over No. 4 UCLA in California Saturday.

Young threw eight innings, limiting the Bruins to just one run on three hits.

Closer Riley Ferrell took the reigns in the ninth inning and retired three straight pinch-hitters to preserve the victory and record his fourth save of the season.

The Bruins scored their only run of the game on an RBI groundout in the first inning.

TCU tied the game in the fourth inning on an RBI double from catcher Evan Skoug that scored Keaton Jones.

With the score tied 1-1 in the sixth inning, Elliott Barzilli lined a double to left field, scoring two and increasing the scoreline to 3-1.

That scoreline held for the rest of the game, with Young and Ferrell taking care of the UCLA offense.

TCU improves to 9-2 overall, and will play in Dodger Stadium against Vanderbilt on Sunday.
