COVID-19 impacted Sharpe's first year, but he didn't let that hold him back from achieving so much as a Horned Frog.

The No. 2 TCU baseball team will return home to play No. 16 Dallas Baptist Tuesday night after a five game road trip. TCU went 3-2 during that stretch.

TCU lost at UT Arlington on March 31 before taking two out of the three games at Texas Tech last weekend. TCU then beat Abilene Christian 4-3 on Monday in a make-up game for the lost Cal Poly series, which was canceled due to weather conditions.

The Frogs (24-6, 6-3 Big 12) will be taking on a DBU team who had a tough time in Springfield, Mo. against Missouri State University last weekend. DBU (24-5, 6-3 Missouri Valley) lost the first game 5-4 and went in to extra innings in both of the next two games, the first of which they lost 4-3 in 10 innings. They won the final game of the series 5-4 in 13 innings.

For the Horned Frogs, the starting pitcher will be sophomore lefty Tyler Alexander. Alexander, who is 1-2 in six starts this season, has given up a team high 18 runs, 14 earned, and has a 3.67 ERA on the year.

He is expected to face DBU freshman righty Gavin Fritz, who is 3-0 with only two starts this season. He has given up just seven hits this season and one unearned run. The official starter for DBU tonight has not been announced as of yet.

The Frogs won both games TCU and DBU played last season. The first game, on March 4, ended in the 15th inning on an error that allowed former TCU catcher Kyle Bacak to score the game-winning run, providing the final 5-4 scoreline. TCU won the second game on April 8 by a score of 7-1.

DBU appeared in the Fort Worth Regional last season but was ousted before getting a chance to play TCU.

First pitch for tonight’s game is set for 6:30 p.m. at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth.
