Morrison sets record as Frogs take series from WVU

Senior Preston Morrison made his 55th career start for the Horned Frogs on Saturday, setting a new school record in route to a 6-2 win over West Virginia.

Morrison (10-1) gave up two runs on five hits over eight innings in the outing. The win was the 35th in his career.

After scoring one in the first on an RBI from catcher Evan Skoug, the Frogs scored five more in the third. Skoug knocked an RBI single with one out. The Frogs then loaded the bases, but they wouldn’t score on any hits. A hit batter and three passed balls allowed the Frogs to score four more.

The Frogs are now 36-9 on the year and 12-5 in Big 12 play. Alex Young will get the ball in the series finale on Sunday in Morgantown. First pitch is set for noon CT.
