3,634 fans came out to cheer on the Frogs and honor the seniors in their final regular season home game in Lupton Stadium.

TCU took down the Abilene Christian University 8-2 Tuesday night, improving their record to 40-9 on the season.

Senior Derek Odell started off hot, hitting a home-run in the first inning.

“It felt good,” Odell said. “I think I’m just a more mature hitter. I’m walking a lot more than I used to so I think I’m getting better pitches to hit.”

Freshman Evan Skoug added to the Frogs’ success with two solo home-runs tonight. His first home run came in the first inning and then hit another one in the eighth. Skoug finished 3-4 batting and recorded two RBIs.

“We’ve seen the power before,” head coach Jim Schlossnagle said. “He’s one of the few guys in our club that has legitimate power.”

Redshirt sophomore Mitchell Traver started the game and pitched 5.2 innings earning three strikeouts and only allowing two hits.

Junior Preston Guillory threw three strikes in the seventh inning, while junior Riley Ferrell closed the game with two strikeouts and faced three batters.

The Frogs head to Norman, Oklahoma Thursday to take on the Sooners in their last series of the season. TCU looks to close out the series to earn home field advantage for regional play.
