TCU has three concert halls with full schedules in April. These are the people that help make it all work.

Jimmy John’s – the popular Illinois-based sandwich shop – is coming to the strip on University Drive. It will take over the space formerly occupied by Cold Stone Creamery.

David Cabellero, franchisor of the new Jimmy John’s, said he hopes to have the doors open in early July. Construction is currently ongoing.

Cabellero said an increase in orders from the TCU area was key in the decision to open a location closer to campus.

“We wanted to be apart of the community,” Cabellero said. “We wanted to better service the customers.”

Jimmy Johns will accept Frog Bucks and Campus Cash, Cabellero said. They will also deliver to students and residents close by.

Brady Coggins, a junior finance and real estate major, is looking forward to the new location.

“I always wished they delivered to my house but never could because I was out of range,” Coggins said. “I’m happy that they are on campus now.”

Cabellero said he will begin hiring in two weeks. He’s looking to hire TCU students.

“TCU has a great reputation,” Cabellero said.

The University Drive location will be the seventh Jimmy John’s in Fort Worth. Other sandwich shops in the area include Potbelly Sandwich Shop and McAlister’s Deli.
