The powwow originally referred to a healing ceremony conducted by tribal spiritual leaders. Now the powwow is a large group gathering and is one of the only ways that indigenous people can pass on historically endangered traditions.

Live blog: Town hall meeting about new medical school

Chair Stathis Michaelides announced that twelve subcommittees have been formed to help the development of the TCU and UNTHSC medical school.  The goal is to have a dean for the school by the end of March. Currently, the school is on track for accreditation applications.
