The winless Paschal Panthers’ game against their district rival, the North Crowley Panthers (1-3), was postponed at halftime Thursday night at Farrington Field due to severe lightning and heavy rain.
The halftime score was 28-3, after North Crowley jumped out to an early first quarter 21-0 lead.
The game will pick up with the third quarter at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Farrington Field.
Paschal’s defense could not find an answer for North Crowley’s running game or quarterback Josh Price. Price was six for nine with 71 yards passing, a touchdown and a two-point conversion and also ran for an additional 106 yards and two touchdowns.
North Crowley’s defense showed speed and bottled up the Paschal offense, holding the Panthers to 82 yards of total offense, including five yards rushing.
Quarterback Chris Hanson was the Panthers’ bright spot, as he has been in the past. He completed eight of 15 passes for 68 yards and no turnovers.
Both teams struggled to hold on to the football before the rain began. North Crowley and Paschal each had two lost fumbles at the end of the first half.
