West Virginia’s move to the Big 12 is not a done deal.
A source close to the situation said the conference had not made an official decision yet and it does not plan to this week, the Associated Press reported Wednesday. The same source also told the AP that Louisville is still very much in the picture to replace Missouri as the Big 12’s 11th school.
ESPN.com’s Joe Schad reported Tuesday that the Big 12 voted unanimously to accept West Virginia into the conference.
A move from either West Virginia or Louisville from the Big East would leave the weakened conference with just five football-playing schools.
TCU announced its decision to join the Big 12 October 10 after originally being scheduled to join the Big East in July of next year.
