Within seconds of the first quarter, Baylor started the game just as it did last fall with a 75-yard pass to senior wide-receiver Terrance Williams for a touchdown.
Trevone Boykin made his first debut on the road as starting quarterback for the Horned Frogs and with an 18-yard pass to sophomore wide receiver Cameron White, the Horned Frogs tied the game 7-7 with 8:56 remaining in the first quarter.
With another 18-yard pass from Boykin to Cameron White, the Horned Frogs took their first lead of the game with just under three minutes left in the first half. The Frogs converted a fourth down and two to keep the drive alive. Freshman Jaden Oberkrom converted for the extra point which ended the first half with a score of 14-7.
TCU cornerback Jason Verrett and safety Chris Hackett both picked up interceptions in the first quarter. Verrett now leads the team in interceptions this season with four. Safety Sam Carter recorded two sacks for the Frogs.
Boykin ended the half with nine completions, 16 attempts and 102 yards. Running back Matthew Tucker has five attempts and 31 yards after returning back from injury. Cameron White ends the half with two receptions, 33 yards and two touchdowns.
