Gibson Duwe will be back under center for Paschal as the Panthers face the Weatherford Kangaroos on Friday.
The junior quarterback has missed the last three games with a concussion. Duwe last played in the 41-0 win over Dallas Sunset on Sept.21.
Sophomore quarterback William Floyd, who started the last three games, will also play, Panther head coach Matt Cook said.
Duwe passed for 349 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions his three starts. Floyd passed for 316 yards with one touchdown and seven interceptions.
All of Floyd’s starts came in district games. Duwe has not played in a district game.
Weatherford comes into Friday’s game with a 1-5 record with a 0-3 mark in the district. Paschal is 2-4 with a 0-3 record in district play.
“[Weatherford] scares me,” Cook said.
The Kangaroos have improved at the skill positions and on defense, he said.
Weatherford has beaten Paschal eight straight times dating back to 2004. The Kangaroos scored an average of 40 points per game during their winning streak over the Panthers.
Weatherford’s only win this season was a 21-7 victory over Burleson on Sept. 14. Since that point, the Kangaroos have lost three straight games in the district by an average of 44 points per game.
The game is set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Kangaroo Stadium in Weatherford.
