TCU women's equestrian team will take on Texas A&M for the ninth time in program history Friday as the Horned Frogs hit the road for the first time this season.
Texas A&M is ranked No. 4 in the Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian National Coaches Poll, while TCU is ranked No. 8. The Aggies lead the all-time series 7-1.
Western head coach Kindel Huffman said she is looking forward to seeing the competition that A&M will bring.
"We are preparing to travel and compete against a very talented team,” Huffman said. “It will be an exciting time for us as we are looking forward to the challenge.”
The Horned Frogs opened their season with two wins at home over New Mexico State and SMU.
The women will be looking to claim their third-straight victory of the season, Huffman said.
Hunt Seat head coach Logan Fiorentino said this is an opportunity to see how the newer team members play away from home.
“I'm excited that we will be bringing the whole team down to College Station,” Fiorentino said. “This is a big match-up for our Western team as well, so we are excited to cheer them on."
Friday's contest will feature a scrimmage on the Hunt Seat side, while the Western squad will continue regular-season action against the Aggies, Huffman said.
