TCU Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson confirmed in his post-game press conference that quarterback Trevone Boykin and cornerback Jason Verrett were injured during Saturday's 36-14 loss to Oklahoma State.

When asked for details about their respective injuries, Patterson responded “I won’t talk about – don’t have to talk about – injuries.” Here are some more quotes from the post-game conference:
 

HEAD COACH GARY PATTERSON:

ON INJURIES:

"You know, we tried to go with Stansly Maponga and Blaize [Foltz] today. He probably shouldn’t have, but Foltz played a bit in the second half. Brandon Carter didn’t play today. Stansly didn’t play, he probably won’t play next week. We’re gonna keep working at it, but pretty soon, you run out of bullets.”

ON THE EXTENT OF BOYKIN'S AND VERRETT'S INJURY:

“I have no idea.” 

ON TEAM INTENSITY:

"This has been two weeks in a row when someone turns it up in the fourth quarter and we haven’t had an answer. With the injuries, we were worn down, we just have keep trying to find an answer."

"You have to give Oklahoma State some of that credit. We had our chances in the ball game, really in the second half. We didn’t do much with it except one drive. We missed two field goals and [Oklahoma State] took care of their opportunities."

“When people turn up the knob, we have to be able to turn up the knob too. We haven’t done that the last two games.”

ON DEFENSE:

ON KEVION GAMBLE'S START AND PLAYING TIME:

“That was a Thursday thing. Verrett got hurt in the fourth quarter. That’s why Gamble played most of the rest of the game.”

ON OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION:
“I don’t know, I have to watch the film. We only scored one touchdown. I’d say that’s not good enough to win in the Big 12.”

Pre-Game WARMUPS:
“You know, I thought they looked a bit flat, to be honest with you. We had great practices all week, so I don’t know. You gotta be able to play on the road and play every week.”

“We had a good travel plan. They had a good night of sleep, we didn’t go about our business.”

DEFENSIVE LINEMAN JON KOONTZ:

ON OKLAHOMA'S SECOND-HALF OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE:
“They didn’t change anything. They just were executing better. We weren’t.”

ON DEFENSIVE FATIGUE:
“They definitely have a faster offense, but fatigue wasn’t a factor. We’re conditioned for that, we just weren’t executing the way we were supposed to.”

ON TRICK PLAYS:
“Yeah, we knew they had tricks up their sleeves. Like we said, it’s just a responsibility thing. We’ll go figure out who’s responsibility that was, then we’ll go correct it. It won’t happen again.”

ON BLAIZE FOLTZ:
“It didn’t really affect us. We have plenty of guys, backup people, we trust just as much as Blaize.”

ON THE SECOND HALF:

"We just didn’t finish. Two weeks in a row for our offense. We have to do better for the next four weeks or so left in the season. I don’t want to admit it, but I think we did quit. Coach Patterson mentioned that we quit and it kinda felt like that. I don’t know if we were just shocked they came back or we just don’t know how to dig ourselves out from being in a corner. We just didn’t fight back.”

“We’re young. Like I said, we don’t know how to fight back yet when we’re in a corner. I think we get excited when we’re on top and when we’re losing, we get shocked. We’re like ‘Oh, this doesn’t happen to TCU.’ We crushed people 60-0 last year. Now, it’s close until the fourth quarter every game. That will improve with experience and developing players.”

“We had some of the older guys trying to calm down some of the younger guys. And we have some younger guys who are calm. It’s just human nature. Have to fight back.”
