Trevone Boykin, quarterback, freshman
Trevone Boykin threw for 164 yards, an interception and a touchdown against Kansas State. The Mesquite native has thrown 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He has thrown an interception in every Big 12 game this year except for the win against Baylor. Boykin has completed 58.3 percent of his passes and has been sacked 17 times this season.
Marcus Mallet, linebacker, sophomore
Marcus Mallet had a two tackles for loss and a forced fumble against Kansas State. The Cleveland, Tex. native got his first career start against the Wildcats. Mallet recorded a career-high seven tackles at West Virginia. He has played in nine games this season and made 14 tackles, 11 more than last season.
Ethan Perry, punter, freshman
Ethan Perry has punted 44 times this season, including 13 punts over 50 yards. Perry’s 44.5 yards per punt ranks no. 4 in the Big 12. The Spring Branch native has pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line 13 times and recorded eight touchbacks. His longest punt went for 64 yards against SMU. Perry punted a season-high nine times against West Virginia. He has also made two tackles on punt returns this season.
