The time invested by a group of TCU students paid off last Thursday when they filled the Brown Lupton University Union to capacity.
The TCU Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) had been preparing since last fall for the organization’s third annual “Amazing Vietnam” event.
Every spring the program features a theme centered on Vietnamese culture. This year the show highlighted the life of a seafarer and coastal culture.
Tu Hugnh, president of VSA, said preparing for the show was very time consuming. Performers spent around five hours a week practicing this semester.
Victor Hoang, a biology major said, “It was tiring but very fun to prepare with my friends.”
Hugnh said the program is similar to a musical, including a story line with skits and songs.
First-year student Chinedu Akpom said this was his first show and will be back again next spring.
Hugnh said the support of the program over the last few years has meant bigger audiences. VSA continues to work harder each year to make each event more memorable than the last.
