The weather might look decent now, but it could get ugly tonight. Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop in the DFW area around 7 or 8 p.m., according to the Fort Worth National Weather Service.
The storms are expected to bring with them a threat for large hail and damaging winds. There’s also a chance for flooding and tornados in some areas of North Texas but shouldn’t directly affect Fort Worth, a representative from the weather service said.
The representative said tonight’s weather could be comparable to the storms that rolled through Fort Worth in March. If the weather gets dangerous, TCU will activate TCU Alert.
The good news: the storm is moving east and should be out of Fort Worth by the end of the night, the NWS representative said.
