The Mountain West Conference reached an agreement with the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl to send the league’s top team to the game for the 2006-09 seasons. The bowl will continue to pair the MWC with the Pacific-10 Conference and will have a payout of at least $1 million.
The game’s executive director, Tina Kunzer-Murphy, said the agreement with the MWC will increase the prominence of the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl.
“This is now the league’s premier bowl game, which means fans are sure to see an exciting match-up each year between representatives of two great conferences,” Kunzer-Murphy said.
This year’s game will continue to pair the Pac-10’s fifth-best team with a MWC opponent.
