A TCU employee was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital as a result of injuries caused by a car accident Tuesday afternoon, Fort Worth Police said.The accident occurred at Rogers Avenue and West Berry Street at approximately 3:15 p.m., said Fort Worth Police Officer K. Hill, who arrived on the scene shortly after.

Hill said the accident involved two vehicles – a silver Toyota Camry and a gold Chrysler Sebring. The Chrysler failed to yield at a stop sign on Rogers Avenue and hit the Toyota, Hill said.

“When the Chrysler hit the Camry, it pushed the Camry over to the grass,” Hill said. “The Chrysler hit a stop sign, which is still attached to it.”

The Toyota’s air bags deployed and caused minor injuries to the driver, he said. Hill said the driver of the Chrysler was feeling some pain from the impact.

Daniel Polido, who is not related to TCU and witnessed the accident, said he immediately went to check on the driver of the Toyota.

“I opened the (Camry) door and turned the car off,” Polido said. “The woman said, ‘I need help,’ so I called 911.”

Shelli Barr-Majors, a payroll tax coordinator for TCU Human Resources, said she is used to seeing accidents at the intersection.

“This is a very dangerous intersection,” Barr-Majors said. “There are a lot of bad accidents.”

Hill said police issued the driver of the Chrysler tickets for not having a driver’s license, not having insurance and failing to yield at a stop sign.
