New positions for Image magazine and the Daily Skiff were named Friday.Senior news-editorial journalism major Courtney Reese was named editor in chief of the Skiff; senior advertising/public relations major Holly Johnson was named ad manager for the Skiff; and senior news-editorial journalism major Jenny Eure was named editor in chief of Image magazine.

“I want to make sure we continue to give them (the readers) what they want and need to hear,” Eure said.

Johnson said she is excited about the semester ahead.

“I’m looking forward to the position,” Johnson said. “I enjoy being in a position to help people learn and develop skills.”

The experience will be beneficial later, Johnson said.

“I want to emphasize a friendly and responsible staff,” Johnson said.

Reese said she is looking forward to combining the skills she has learned as managing editor with what she has learned working under previous editors.

Involving more journalism classes with the Skiff and bettering its online version are priorities for Reese.

“I don’t think a lot of people know about it,” Reese said. “I want to let the campus know it’s there.”
