Student-led discussion on various topics that revolve around the Black community in Fort Worth and on the TCU campus.

Worship Service & Fellowship Dinner Honoring Black History

A nod to various leaders who have been instrumental in the Civil Rights arena, theology, social issues and more. A free fellowship dinner immediately following the service. Fellowship dinner immediately following service.

Alpha Phi Alpha Funkytown Stompdown

6:30 p.m.
The men of Alpha Phi Alpha bring you the first ever college stepshow competition at TCU. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Tickets are $10 and will be sold in the main during lunch time Wednesday and Thursday.

Tribute to Lost Pioneers in 2005

A display honoring leaders in the African American community who passed in 2005.

Friday, February 10
Delta Sigma Theta Crimson & CrŠme Pageant
SC Ballroom

The Ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. host their scholarship pageant whose funds are raised by the men participants. Another portion of the funds raised from the pageant go toward the Thika Memorial Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. There is a wing in this hospital that was founded by Delta Sigma Theta in 1955 and it helps first time mothers with prenatal care and postnatal care.

Using Our Legacy to Enhance Our Future – Africa

A three-part series from the Brite Black Seminarians kicks off with a look at the historical religious influence from Africa. Reverend Alphie Wines, a Brite Divinity Ph.D. student, will bless the community with the Word of God.

The Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. sponsors its 4th Annual First Steps event which features a step competition between Panhellenic sororities for prizes.

BET – Black Entertainers at TCU
Presents: African Americans in Entertainment

6:00 p.m.
Student initiated event whose goal is to enrich students/staff/faculty of all backgrounds on the history of African Americans in the entertainment industry. Choreographed and directed by Junior Ballet/Modern Dance major, Marcus Nicholson.

Soul Steppers 4th Annual Step Show

The Soul Steppers once again bring their program together to collaborate with other student organizations for the purpose of fellowship and minister through stepping.

This month’s diversity topic honors the month by highlighting Black cultural entertainment.

Thursday, February 23
Night at the Apollo
SC Ballroom
7:00 p.m.
The Apollo Theatre is at TCU for this evening only as students display their talents to compete for a $200 cash prize. But they first have to endure the Sandman and booing from the crowd!

Brite Black Seminarians Union Chapel Series III
Using Our Legacy to Enhance Our Future – African American

Finale in the three-part series which features a service encompassing all traditions through the Black Church in America. Reverend Ralph Emerson from Rising Star Baptist Church will preach during this ceremony.
