The Horned Frogs finished the Houston College Classic with a 2-1 record with victories over No. 12 Tulane and Houston; the lone loss of the weekend came courtesy of Rice, which beat TCU 12-6. Sophomore outfielder Matt McGuirk earned all-tournament honors for his strong weekend performance, including a 10th-inning home run that clinched Friday’s victory over the Green Wave.
