Students looking for a way to get involved on campus can do so at the activities fair from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today in the University Recreation Center, said the director of Howdy Week.”Some students think that if you’re not Greek there’s nothing to do on campus,” said Jennifer Pippin, director of Howdy Week. “The activities fair is a good way for students to learn about the groups they can join.”
Tables will be set up in the Rec Center and will allow students to visit representatives from different organizations. If students wish to join a group or receive more information, lists will be provided for them to leave their contact information, Pippin said.
More than 50 clubs and organizations plan to participate, she said.
The activities fair is also an outlet for smaller organizations to make themselves known, said Rob Grebel, president of Peace Action.
“We don’t get to put together a lot of activities during the semester, so this is a good way to get our name out there,” Grebel said.
Groups that will be represented include anything from Christian fraternities and sororities to service organizations and other various activities.
“There are literally hundreds of things for students to do here,” Pippin said.
