Weather update: Area under thunderstorm watch

The Dallas-Fort Worth area has been placed under a severe thunderstorm watch until 2 a.m. Tuesday, said Jason Dunn, a forecaster for the National Weather Service. Storms are currently moving down southern Oklahoma all the way down to Mineral Wells in Palo Pinto County and may enter the Metroplex area in the next few hours, Dunn said.

A high of 70 and a low of 44 is expected for Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. The temperature will rise Wednesday with a high of 79 and a low of 56, according to NWS.

Tuesday will not be as windy as Monday but breezy, Dunn said. Windy weather will continue this week, caused by low-pressure systems moving through the Plains, Dunn said.
