The men’s basketball team will face the Wyoming Cowboys tonight at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum after dropping a game against Utah on Saturday.

“It’s important for us to win our home games to have a good season,” said head coach Jim Christian. “We just want to keep playing well and get off to a good start in Mountain West Conference play.”

The Horned Frogs enter the game with an 8-8 record overall and a 1-1 record in conference play. The team won its first conference game of the season against Air Force 59-50, but fell in its second to Utah 65-45.

The Cowboys come to Fort Worth with the same overall record and conference record.

Last season, the Horned Frogs split the series against the Cowboys. TCU won the first game in overtime in Fort Worth 79-78, but lost in Laramie 61-56.

“Any win you get in this league is going to be hard fought, and you’re going to have to earn it,” Christian said.

Christian said the Cowboys’ pressure and athleticism give the Horned Frogs some problems.

“They’re athletic and they press us for 40 minutes,” he said. “We’ve been a little inconsistent with pressure so it’s going to be a really good test. They have guys like Muojeke who can get 30 (points) and have big nights and carry them by themselves. They’re a good basketball team.”

TCU senior forward Zvonko Buljan leads the team in scoring with 14.2 points per game. Sophomore guard Ronnie Moss comes in second with 14.1 points per game.

Buljan also leads the Horned Frogs in rebounds with 9.2 a game. Moss leads in assists with 6.3 a game.

Wyoming has five players that average double figures in scoring. Sophomore forward Afam Muojeke leads the Cowboys with 17.6 points a game, and sophomore guard A.J. Davis, Wyoming’s the second leading scorer, averages 12.3 points per game.

TCU and Wyoming will meet again Feb. 13 in Laramie.
