No. 20 TCU posted their fifteenth win of the season Wednesday night after a dominating 78-51 performance at home against the Colorado State University Rams.

The Lady Frogs led 37-23 at halftime, and sustained their lead by marking a three-point field goal percentage of 71.4 in the last 20 minutes.

Ten different TCU players had the chance to add on to the score, at one point leading by 33 points.

Senior guard TK LaFleur notably reached her 1,000-point career mark and finished the game with 11 points. She is only the 11th player in program history to reach this milestone.

“It’s been over my head the whole season,” LaFleur said. “It was going to come with time. It’s a good feeling.”

CSU sophomore guard Kim Mestdagh had a quality game by scoring 14 points. However, the Lady Frogs held her to only two of 10 successful three-point attempts, which were made near the end of the second half. Mestdagh entered the game leading the MWC in three-point field goals made.

Head coach Jeff Mittie attributes this success to the collective defensive play of LaFleur and sophomore guard Antoinette Thompson.

“I think our defensive pressure bothered them,” Mittie said. “Ultimately, TK and Antoinette really didn’t let her loose early in the game, and then when she had some wide open ones she didn’t have any rhythm.”

Sophomore forward Chatilla van Grinsven led the Rams with 20 points. Beyond this, CSU struggled with turnovers, leaving the game with 22.

Leading the Lady Frogs were junior guards Helena Sverrisdottir and Emily Carter with a combined 32 points. TCU finished the game shooting 46.9 percent from the field and outrebounding CSU 41-38.
