The Daily Skiff and Image Magazine took home several awards this past weekend at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Convention in Kerrville.

The Skiff won second place in General Excellence and Best of Show. The DailySkiff.com site won first place in Web Excellence.

Image Magazine won the Sweepstakes Award at the TIPAconvention. TIPA is the largest and oldest college press association in the nation. Image Magazine staff received second place in Overall Excellence.

The Skiff was also honored during the weekend at the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors Convention in College Station, receiving honorable mention in the Newspaper of the Year category.

The Skiff’s newspaper and online student advertising staff won three awards at the College Newspapers Business and Advertising Managers Convention in Los Angeles.

Among the three different conventions, 18 students from the Skiff, Image Magazine and TCU News Now won a total of 38 awards.
