Boo at the Zoo has expanded to offer daytime hours plus more animals.
The biggest change at Boo at the Zoo is the new daytime hours. The event runs from noon to 5 p.m. on Oct 22-24 and Oct 29-31.
This change was brought on after the zoo’s guests completed a survey, which showed that 60 percent wanted one thing: more animals, said Katie Giangreco, public relations coordinator for the Fort Worth Zoo.
“Since this is now a daytime event, Boo at the Zoo guests can explore the entire zoo and see all of the animals – that wasn’t possible when the event was held in the evening,” Giangreco said.
In addition to the regular zoo animals, Boo at the Zoo will offer even more animals during the Wild Wonders stage show. Animals could include an alligator, boa constrictor, black-footed penguin and more (subject to availability). For an extended list of animals, you may visit www.fortworthzoo.org/events/wonders.html.
Another new addition to this year’s Boo at the Zoo is a photo contest.
“Guests are invited to upload photos of their children and family in their best wildlife costumes enjoying the all-new Boo at the Zoo,” Giangreco said. Photos may be taken anywhere in the zoo. More information is available on the website at www.fortworthzoo.org/boo.
Admission to Boo at the Zoo is $3 for all ages after paying the regular zoo admission—$12 for adults, $9 for children ages 3-12, $9 for seniors ages 65 and up and free for children 2 and under. The festival will be held at the Chesapeake Pavilions, located inside of the zoo.
