TCU finished ninth overall and Frogs’ senior Scott Roudebush finished tied for 11th place as the TCU men’s golf team completed competition Tuesday at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational played at Sawgrass Country Club.
The Frogs saw the squad combine for an 18-over-par 306 after junior Johan de Beer, who shot a team-best round of 73 during the day, was disqualified. The squad was tied for the lead following day one action with Auburn at -6. Arkansas ended the week on top of the pack at +3, as all but two teams (Arkansas, -5; LSU, -1) shot over par during the final round.
Roudebush shot a 3-over-par 75 Tuesday to finish the week at +2, nine shots back of individual champion Phillip Choi from Florida (-7). The performance marked the best score of Roudebush’s TCU career for a three-day tournament, topping a 5-over-par showing during his sophomore season at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational.
Fellow senior Tom Hoge fired a 2-over 74 to finish the tournament in a tie for 31st place at +8. Sophomore Pontus Gad (+10) and junior Eli Cole (+23) tied for 41st and 74th, respectively, following final-day scores of 80 and 77.
