No. 6 TCU equestrian moved to 6-3 on the season Sunday after a 12-3-1 defeat of Delaware State at Gambler’s Choice Equestrian Center.

“I was really pleased with how we did overall today,” said head coach Gary Reynolds. “I can honestly say that we really functioned as a team today. Coach Huffman had the Hunt Seat team ready and they rocked. To be able to win 7-1 on the road is amazing. I was really proud of her and the entire Hunt Seat team. The Western team has worked really hard and came back this week and performed really well.”

Overall, the Horned Frogs captured three of the four MVP accolades Sunday and dominated the Hornets, who are receiving votes in the national poll, from start to finish.

The Frogs jumped out to early 3-1 lead in the contest as Victoria Lee, Taylor Frederick and Jennifer Whitt all scored points for TCU in Equitation over Fences. Lee, a junior from Cordova, Tenn., captured her second-straight MVP honor in the event, while Frederick moved to 5-3 on the year with the win.

In Equitation on the Flat, the Frogs breezed through the competition en route to a 7-1 victory in English action Sunday. Senior Milana Trimino earned her second MVP of the season in the event.

TCU was just as successful on the Western side Sunday, claiming a 5-2-1 decision over the Hornets. In Horsemanship, the Frogs made quick work of DSU with a 3-1 outing.

“We were solid in Horsemanship this week. We now need to keep working as we get ready for the National Championships,” said Reynolds.

The Purple and White capped the day, downing DSU in Reining, 2-1-1. Kolby Simonson, who ended her match in a draw, collected MVP accolades, which moved her season record to 2-3-2 on the year with two MVP honors.

The Horned Frogs will next be in action on Saturday, March 12 against Georgia. Start time is set for 10 a.m. at October Hill Farms.
