TCU junior Brooke Beeler birdied two of her opening three holes en route to a team-best three birdies on the day. She finished with a 78.
No. 2 UCLA leads the field with a 5-over-par 293. No. 25 UC Davis is one shot back at 294.
Arizona State’s Giulia Molinaro sits atop the leader board after an opening-round 69, one stroke ahead of Purdue’s Laura Gonzalez. Only five of the 96 individuals shot below par.
