The Horned Frogs will compete in the nation’s second-largest track meet beginning Wednesday at the University of Texas. The 84th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays will be held through Saturday.
More than half of the members of the men’s and women’s track & field teams qualified for the event.
Freshman Jake Rossmango will compete in Section B of the men’s 3000-meter steeplechase, and senior Jeff Pels will compete in the 1500 meters, while sophomore Kelly Dawson will represent the women’s team in Section B of the 1500 meters. Junior Jack O’Brien and senior Sean Zurko will run the 800 for the Frogs, while freshman Agnes Kemboi will wrap up Wednesday evening in the women’s 5000 meters.
Freshman Lavon Collins and senior Jordan Pitts will compete in the men’s 400-meter hurdles Thursday.
Coming off a personal-best performance in the men’s 400 at the Annual Bobby Lane Invitational in Arlington on April 2, senior Mychal Dungey will compete in the 4×200 relay and the 1600 sprint medley.
In the field division, sophomore Cameron Tabor also had a first-place day at the Bobby Lane Invitational. He threw a personal best in the men’s discus with a throw of 175-4.
Tabor will compete in the men’s discus throw at the Texas Relays.
Fresh from breaking the school record in the women’s 400-meter dash, senior Jessica Young will be busy at the Texas Relays. She will participate in the 100-meter dash, the 4×100-meter relay, the 4×200-meter relay and the 4×400-meter relay. Young ran the 400 in 52.27 seconds at the Arizona State Invitational on March 26. The previous school record was held by Nathandra John at 52.31 seconds in 2006.
Frogs in the rankings
-Young is the fastest woman in the country in the 100 meters with an 11.14 mark while also holding the third-fastest time of 52.27 in the 400 meters.
-Sophomore Charles Silmon holds the eighth-fastest time in the nation in the men’s 100 with a 10.25 and is ranked No. 17 in the 200 meters with a time of 20.82.
-O’Brien is ranked No. 11 in the men’s 800, while Zurko is not far behind with a No. 15 ranking.
-One week into the outdoor track season, TCU is at the top of the Mountain West Conference rankings in 13 events.

Co-Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week
Dungey ran a personal-best 46.59 in the 400, second overall behind former Frog Lewis Banda.
