West Berry block party starts Saturday

Junior Ted Wick’s idea of holding a block party for the TCU community and Fort Worth will become a reality tomorrow.

The West Berry Block Party is set to take place Saturday on West Berry Street.

Wick and his friends, band members of Collective Dreams, are the creative minds behind the block party that will have several nearby restaurants participating in the event as well as over 45 bands performing.

Venues include The Moon, The Cellar, Stay Wired, The Aardvark and Old Rip’s. The block party will include headlining bands such as Green River Ordinance, Nelo and Collective Dreams. Other bands and musicians will be coming from across the country to perform at the block party.

After Japan’s tsunami disaster, event organizers announced via Twitter that the event will be a tsunami relief concert. The majority of the proceeds will go to Direct Relief International.
