Cron to choose between TCU, Seattle after MLB Draft

Kevin Cron has until Aug. 15 to decide if he’ll sign with Seattle or attend TCU next season.

Cron was taken by Seattle in the third round.

Kevin and his brother C.J. from the University of Utah grew up around Major League Baseball, and now both have a chance to follow in their father’s footsteps.

Their father Chris was drafted in 1984 and made his major-league debut with the California Angels in 1991. Since 1995, he has been a minor-league manager, first with the Chicago White Sox organization and most recently as manager of Detroit’s Class AA club.

C.J. Cron expects to return to Utah in the fall while rehabbing from shoulder surgery. The 21-year-old was drafted 17th overall this week by the Los Angeles Angels.
