Andrew Mitchell and Stefan Crichton have been tabbed Freshmen All-Americans by Louisville Slugger.

Mitchell spent time as both a reliever and a starter, making 10 starts as part of 22 appearances on the mound. Mitchell finished the campaign with a 6-1 record to go along with two saves and a 2.84 ERA. He combined on two of the squad’s four shutouts this season. His 76 innings pitched ranked third on the squad while his 73 strikeouts were the second most on the team. He limited opponents to a .197 batting average against.

Crichton tied for the team lead with 26 appearances, two of which were starts. He compiled a 6-3 record, picked up five saves and finished the campaign with a 1.98 ERA in 50 innings pitched. Crichton fanned 42 batters, issued just 10 walks and limited opponents to a .208 batting average against.

In the last eight years, TCU has produced 11 Freshmen All-Americans.

Former Frogs who have been tabbed Freshmen All-Americans include Royce Huffman, who was the first Frog to earn the honor in 1996. In 2004, Chad Huffman, Shelby Ford and German Duran were the first to be honored in the Jim Schlossnagle era. Also honored were Matt McGuirk (2005), Andrew Walker (2005), Sean Hoelscher (2008), Trent Appleby (2008), Matt Purke (2010) and Josh Elander (2010).
