Paul F. Boller, TCU professor emeritus of history and best-selling author will appear on the television program History Detectives on PBS at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the PBS website, “History Detectives is devoted to exploring the complexities of historical mysteries, searching out the facts, myths and conundrums that connect local folklore, family legends and interesting objects.”
Dr. Boller was a Navy intelligence officer during WWII and was on the staff of Admiral Chester Nimitz during Pearl Harbor. Boller was trained to speak Japanese and prepared leaflets that would be dropped on cities before bombings. The leaflets contained information telling the residents to flee the area.
