Welcome to TCU 360, the new home for news about TCU, its students and alumni, and the community where we live. Starting July 1, TCU 360 officially replaces the DailySkiff.com website. TCU 360 is produced out of the Schieffer School of Journalism, and staffed by students from across the campus at TCU who are dedicated to bringing you the real time news that students, faculty and staff will be talking about.
Aside from the usual news you receive from the newspaper, newscast and magazine, TCU 360 will provide you with timely news coverage and original features generated by a staff of student reporters who work to gather news as it breaks. Our new platform gives us the space to bring you videos, pictures, maps and graphs, as well as provides us with plenty of archival space for you to revisit events you might have missed, like the senior library rave or the stadium implosion. There’s also more room for us to post the things you’re involved in, so you can send us your own video footage, stories and pictures. Together, our new team and the existing staffs of the TCU student media will provide comprehensive coverage of all things TCU, all the time.
At TCU 360, you will find not only our own original coverage and content but also content from The Daily Skiff, News Now and Image Magazine.
This week on TCU360, we’re bringing you:
• A progress report on new student parking
• A sneak peak at construction on the stadium
• Video of SuperFrog and Mayor Moncrief rapelling down a 26-story building
• Live coverage of TCU students in the Miss Texas pageant
• Photos of LaDainian Tomlinson’s visit to campus
As you can see from first glance, the new site looks very different. The more user-friendly setup should allow you to find the stories you’re looking for faster. Accessing your news through TCU 360 will allow you to stay in the loop no matter what time of day and no matter where you are. We know stuffing the Skiff under your desk during class isn’t always practical, so our mobile version of the site will automatically come up when you access TCU360 from your phone or mobile device.
The best way to take advantage of all the things TCU 360 offers is to sign up for our newsletter that will go out every evening during the school year and immediately when there’s breaking news. For Daily Skiff subscribers, your regular newsletters, previously sent from DailySkiff.com, will be coming from TCU 360 nightly during the school year and twice weekly during the summer. Our staff will also manage the social media for all student publications through our Facebook page, updating them around the clock when new stories are released. All other accounts will soon be going dark, so follow us at http://www.facebook.com/TCU360 and @TCU360 on Twitter to keep from missing any TCU news. You can also put [email protected] in your phone address book to send in news tips, pictures and video when you’re out and about. We hope you enjoy exploring the new site while we keep you posted on TCU news throughout the summer.
Let us know what you think by commenting on Facebook or by emailing us at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Andrea Drusch
