Music in the 109 this week, Aug. 21-28

Although summer is coming to a halt, the music scene in the 109 is still going strong. Throw on your cowboy hats and boots and come see one of Fort Worth’s favorite country artists, Emory Quinn, at The Aardvark, Thursday, Aug. 25. This band, from San Antonio, Texas, puts on a show that leaves you no choice but to two step all night long.

If you are looking for a Rock N Roll kind of night China Kills Girls, Perdition, How’s My Driving and Left Foot Green are playing at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at The Moon. Also Friday night, starting at 10 p.m., Whiskey Bent, a Texas Country band, is playing at Rock Bottom.

Sure, it’s not Tom Petty, but it’s about the closest you can get to it. The Tom Petty Tribute, Petty Theft, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, at The Moon. The members of Petty Theft grew up with Tom Petty, and have been rocking his music with passion for years. Also on Saturday, Neighborhood Nuisance, is playing at Rock Bottom. They are a Rock/ Alternative band from Fort Worth who plays cover music from Green Day, Weezer, ACDC, Janis Joplin, and many more.
