TCU received approval from its Board of Trustees Executive Committee Monday to renovate the east side of Amon G. Carter Stadium, according to an email from Athletics Media Relations Director Mark Cohen.

The TCU student section and away seating is located in the east side.

The east side renovation means the entire stadium will be renovated for the 2012 season, TCU's first in the Big East. In 2012, the Frogs host Oklahoma and Virginia as well as conference games against West Virginia, Cincinnati, Louisville and South Florida.

When the original announcement for renovation was made in Aug. 2010, plans to renovate the east side were for several years later, according to the email.

The new east side will feature a second deck, similar to the west side and north end zone.

Capacity for the final renovation will be 43,000.
