A former TCU student who is a suspect in an off-campus sexual assault turned himself into the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office late Wednesday.

The 19-year-old student did a walk through in the Tarrant County Sheriff’s office where he was fingerprinted and had his mug shot taken.

“The arrested individual is no longer a student at TCU. The University, which works to provide a safe campus community, will not tolerate such reported behavior from students,” Lisa Albert, TCU director of communications wrote in an e-mail.

The student was in classes up until Wednesday, according to his roommate. He removed his things from campus Thursday morning, the roommate said.

The student bonded out of jail on a $25,000 bail on Wednesday at 10:03 p.m.

Albert later said she couldn’t comment further on the case citing federal privacy laws.

The off-campus assault happened on Aug. 26. According to an e-mail alerting students of the crime, the woman told police she knew her assailant.

According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, a citation was issued on the second attempted sexual assault case.
