This Saturday the McLean Mad Hatter 5K race kicks off at 8 a.m. Registration will occur before the actual race time from 6:30 to 7:40 a.m. The race is open to runners of all ages and starts at McLean Middle School. The race route will weave through TCU and Westcliff neighborhoods and end back at McLean Middle School.

The McLean Mad Hatter 5k is named such because participants are encouraged to wear their craziest hats for the race. Participants who wear the strangest or most interesting hats are eligible to win prizes.

Racers and attendees can enjoy a DJ, food, drinks, and gift card drawings for local businesses after the run.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the event organizers, McLean Middle School Parent Teacher Association. Online registration is now closed but you can still register from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Smoothie King on University and form 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 and Friday, Sept. 30, at Luke’s Locker in Montgomery Plaza on West 7th Street.
