Purple gowns filled 834 seats at the Daniel Meyer Coliseum today for graduation.

Graduates represented 34 states and 31 countries for the December commencement ceremony.

“I’m very excited,” nursing graduate Julia Williams said. “I’ve been waiting for this day a long time.”

Chancellor Victor Boschini spoke about changes in the world and on campus including the first African-American president, the many victories of TCU athletics and construction, like the implosion of Amon G. Carter stadium.

After graduation, some students are looking toward employment. Strategic communication graduate Lauren Hillin said she would be searching for a job from home.

Williams said she would work at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in the NICU.

“I’m ready to start my career,” Williams said.
