TCU’s first offering of more club seats for a premium price was a complete success.
Not only are all 2,655 club seats in the Amon G. Carter Stadium sold out, about 150 to 200 Horned Frog fans are on the waiting list for next season, Associate Athletic Director for Development Davis Babb said.
“I think it speaks very positively about what folks think about the program,” Babb said
Club seat holders paid between $1,000 and $3,000 per seat for one season based on the seat location, Babb said. Profits from seats go toward scholarships for student athletes in the TCU Frog Club.
The 2,400 new club seats will include food, beverages, fireplaces, furniture and televisions in a 22,000 square feet area, Babb said. Fans have also filled 255 club seats in the end zone, Babb said.
“I think it speaks very positively about what folks think about the program,” Babb said.
Those seeking the seats paid a $500 deposit in the spring. If depositors did not receive a club seat their deposit became a credit on their account, Babb said. The credit can be used until May 2013 for season tickets in baseball, basketball, 2013 football or as a TCU Frog Club donation.
If the deposit is not used by May 2013 the money would go to the TCU Frog Club, Babb said.
“The ones who were not able to get a seat were disappointed,” Babb said. “Hopefully in the future… we’ll be able to move some of the folks off of that wait list into the club.”
