Students from TCU student media received 38 awards at the annual Texas Intercollegiate Press Association convention over the weekend in Corpus Christi, including a Best of Show award for the Daily Skiff and a first place overall excellence award for Image magazine.
A total of 26 students shared in the individual awards. Of the awards, 34 awards were for items published or broadcast during 2011 or for work done during that time. The other four were from on-site contests. Students from the TCU Daily Skiff, TCU News Now, Image magazine, KTCU and TCU 360 received awards.
In the individual award categories, alumna Andrea Drusch tied for the Editor of the Year award and student Kerri Feczko received the Reporter of the Year award. The editor of the year and reporter of the year awards were given to the top student journalists working at the state’s student news organizations.

Students also placed in four of the on-site contests held during the conference. Osborne placed third in both print sports writing and print news writing, Atteberry placed third in print feature writing and Landon Haaf placed third in television sports writing.
