Former TCU men’s basketball head coach Jim Christian was named head coach of the Ohio University men’s basketball team today.
Rumors circulated about Christian’s move Sunday night before TCU confirmed his move to Ohio on Monday afternoon.
At a news conference, Ohio University named Christian the 17th men’s basketball head coach in Bobcat history.
“This is truly an exciting day for Ohio University and Bobcat athletics,” said Jim Schaus, Ohio University Athletic Director.
“Jim Christian is the winningest men’s basketball head coach in Mid-American Conference history and we are thrilled to have him lead our program. I am confident that his passion, energy and leadership will help our program get to the next level,” he said.
Since he started in 2008, Christian led TCU to a 56-73 record for four seasons.
