How to go out in downtown Fort Worth for less than $20


“The Largest Nightclub in Texas,” Lone Star Night Club located on Commerce Street in downtown Fort Worth is a prime location for diversity and dance without ever having a shortage of things to do. The club opened in December of 2010 and is home to different themed nights, some of which are open at the same time. 

With unbeatable drink specials, Lone Star is a perfect destination to do downtown for $20! 

Drink Specials: 

  • Wednesday: $2.25 wells, $2.25 longnecks
  • Thursday: Ladies free until 11 p.m. $1.25 wells, $2.25 domestics, $5.25 Crown Royal & Ciroc, $5 karaoke and hip-hop 

If you’re looking to dance, Derrick dance club is your destination. The Derrick comes fully equipped with DJs and producers from around the country as well as VIP sections.

At the Star Bar, you run the show. Star Bar is a karaoke room within Lone Star with a full bar and a rotating cast of singers. Customers are more than welcome to come in, choose a song and perform, or sit back and enjoy the show. Star Bar is all about you! 

The Stage is all about live music. The 10,000-square-foot venue holds a full bar, professional sound and lights and has been the stage for some of the biggest stars in Texas country music. The Stage also hosts local, regional and national tribute bands ranging from country to rock and everything in between. 

The Alamo Bar gives you 100 different reasons to enjoy beer from around the world, while Straight Tequila Night offers more than 30 different selections of some of the most familiar tequilas in the world, as well as soon-to-be new favorites. 

While Lone Star Night Club is the ultimate destination for drinks, entertainment, plenty of dancing and great beer, there’s no need to get your head down if you haven’t reached 21 just yet. Wednesday nights, Lone Star offers two open rooms for dancing, and all guest 18 and up are welcome!

  • Wednesday $5 for ages 21+ & $10 for ages 18-20 
  • Thursdays Free before 9 p.m., $5 after
  • Fridays and Saturdays Free before 9 p.m., $7 after 9 p.m.

Everything is bigger in Texas, so much so that the only thing bigger than the “Largest Night Club in Texas” is the “World’s Largest Honky Tonk.” Look no further than Billy Bob’s Texas for true Texas music, food and a whole lot of two-stepping. 

The 11-time “Country Music Club of the Year” winner, Billy Bob’s in located in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. There is so much to do at Billy Bob’s Texas for under $20 that it may require two trips. For a $3 admission, visitors can witness live bull-riding every Friday and Saturday night at 9 and 10 p.m. Countless country music stars have made their way to the Billy Bob’s stage, each concert ranging from $12-20 for general admission.

Feeling hungry? Stop by Billy Bob’s Roadhouse Café for a full menu consisting of no sandwiches more than $6.99 and signature dishes such as chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken served with mashed potatoes, fried okra, a garden salad and Texas toast for just $9.99. Billy Bob’s also has a full bar and plenty of pool tables to keep all entertained! 

Looking for a laugh? Make your way down to historic Sundance Square to Four Day Weekend, Fort Worth’s longest running show! For $20 a ticket, this is one show that truly revolves around the audience. Four Day Weekend is entirely improvised from beginning to end and is led by six founding members, all of whom have been part of the thriving production for nearly 15 years. The men have entertained the likes of baseball superstar Nolan Ryan and are looking to make you next! The venue does include a full bar, but not to worry, the show welcomes individuals 18 and up.
