We know you’re counting down to the weekend, so here’s our list of things to do in Fort Worth. Make the most of your weekend and plan ahead.
Dance concert
1. Summer's here and the time is right for dancin' in the street, well actually Trinity Park. The Ballet Concerto Summer Dance concert will be held on June 21-24 at 8:30 p.m. Be sure to come out and enjoy concessions during the performance or bring your own picnic!
Mark McKinney and Rick Springfield
2. Mark McKinney and Rick Springfield will be live at Billy Bob’s Texas this Friday and Saturday night. Friday night the show will be on the Honky Tonk Stage so you’re sure to have a real rodeo of a time!
The Cellar
3. Keeping up with the music theme, on Saturday night The Cellar will feature Signals and Alibis. This mellow, two-story bar located right behind the TCU Bookstore is 21 and up with no cover.
ZOODUNIT
4. Mystery has struck the Fort Worth Zoo. The classic “who-done-it” has transformed into a ZOODUNIT for a Lone Star Mystery. Zoo animals take the stage at the Outdoor Learning Theatre daily. Shows start at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Ballet Folklorico
5. Vamos a bailar. Mexico Lindo, a ballet folklorico troupe, will perform on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. and 7 pm. Tickets are $10 pre-sale or $12 at the door.
iPad Art Tour
6. The Sid Richardson Museum blends CSI with the Old West to let visitors explore the museum with a digital touch. The Art Investigation iPad Tour lets visitors play on an iPad application while learning more about featured works. iPads can be checked out on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
Tube the Trinity
7. If the Texas heat is getting to you and you’re ready for live music, Tube the Trinity is back and in full force. Visitors can rent tubes and float in the river from 4 p.m. until dusk. There are various dates throughout the summer so check for a complete list of performers. Admission and coolers are free, beer is $2.50 and tubes are $5 each. No outside drinks are allowed.
