7 things to do this weekend in Fort Worth June 29-July 1

Big 12 Celebration
1. This is a big one for us Horned Frogs. With the entrance to the Big 12 Conference at Midnight Saturday night, TCU will be celebrating at Rodeo Plaza down in the Stockyards. Starting at 11:45 p.m. the event will have TCU cheerleaders, showgirls, the Frog Horn and a “special guest.” Be sure to come out and show your Horned Frog pride, 360 will be there!

Merle Haggard
The first 100 faculty, staff or students can get into Billy Bob's Texas for free on Saturday. All you need is a valid TCU ID to see Merle Haggard play at 10:30 p.m. Be sure to hop on over to the Rodeo Plaza at 11:45 p.m.

2012 AjPHA Youth World Championship Show
2. Come watch the youth take on show and racing events alike with the American Junior Paint Horse Association’s Youth World Champion Show this weekend. With a variety of events, this is sure to be something cowboys and cowgirls alike don’t want to miss. Events are held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center.

American Vanguards at the Carter
3. Come see Graham, David, Gorky, de Kooning and more at the Amon Carter Museum of Art this weekend. This show follows artists from 1927-1942 as they changed history with their new and innovative art forms. Admission information can be found here.

Blue Man Group at the Bass
4. Things are looking a little more blue around Fort Worth this weekend. The Blue Man Group will perform at the Bass Performance hall this weekend with their legendary comedy, musical and technologically advanced show. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity.

Grand Opening block party for Fort Worth Blow Dry Bar and Wag
5. Support your fellow Horned Frogs tonight by being a part of Fort Worth Blow Dry Bar and Wag block party in the Foch Street Warehouse Parking lot. Festivities include getting your hair blown out, grabbing a cocktail or just taking a walk with your dog! TCU alumnus and American Idol contestant Tim Halperlin is also set to perform. The party starts tonight at 7 p.m.

6. Central Market is celebrating being voted “Best Gourmet Market in Tarrant County” by Fort Worth, Texas Magazine and they are inviting all of their faithful customers to join! Beginning Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. a food truck will be providing party-goers with burgers, chips and cold drinks while Greg Luce performs. The first 100 partiers will also receive a Central Market shopping bag!

A night of comedy with Mike Baldwin
7. Comedian Mike Baldwin is taking the stage at Hyena’s Comedy NightClub located inside of Lonestar NightClub in Sundance Square downtown. Enjoy drinks, food, and laughs this weekend, doors open at 6 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. Ages 18 and up are welcome with a $10 entrance fee.
