TCU vs. Virginia: A few last-minute pregame notes

TCU+vs.+Virginia%3A+A+few+last-minute+pregame+notes

TCU and Virginia are less than an hour until kickoff here at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Here are some last-minute notes:

Nice conditions again

For the third straight week, the Horned Frogs get perfect conditions for football. Might get a little on the hot side, though. Forecasts call for highs of 97 degrees. It’s around 75 degrees and sunny now. There’s a slight north breeze, but it shouldn’t play too much of a role in the game.

Watch out for Pierson

Someone to watch out for today: Davion Pierson. The redshirt freshman defensive tackle had a solid game last week, racking up five tackles, 1.5 for loss and half of a sack. Pierson was able to break through the line a couple times on the Jayhawks’ first drive, after TCU’s first turnover, and pressure Dayne Crist.

Fans come out early

Pretty healthy amount of tailgaters out in Frog Alley this morning. Let’s see how that translates to the game, which, of course, is starting a little bit earlier than most TCU fans are used to. If you’re watching from home, simply flip over to College Gameday on ESPN, and it’ll take you right to the TCU game afterward at 11 a.m.

New look

TCU will be wearing gray jerseys for the first time, along with purple pants and purple helmets. Virginia will be wearing white jerseys with blue helmets and blue pants.
