The caffeine buzz is a college student's drug

College students seem to have a reliance on caffeine to get them through lectures and late night study sessions, but there are healthier alternatives to power through the day.

McLean's Mad Hatter run on Saturday

McLean Middle School will hold its annual Mad Hatter 5K run at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Online registration ends Friday but interested participants can register and pick up race day packets before 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

It costs $20 for students and $25 for adults. According to McLean’s PTA website, all proceeds will help McLean Middle School purchase a mobile computer lab, professional development for teachers, new novel sets, field improvements and other items on classroom wish lists. In addition to providing funds for McLean Middle, McLean 6th Grade Center will also receive $5 from each registration fee.

When: Saturday, September 29 from 7:30-10:30 a.m.

Where: 3800 Stadium Drive
