Trevone Boykin finished the 12-for-19 passing for 132 yards for his first opportunity at starting quarterback. At the end of the first half, TCU trails Iowa State 16-10 for the first Big 12 game at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Within the first two minutes of the game, Iowa State scored the first touchdown. ISU wide receiver Josh Lenz caught a 51-yard pass from quarterback Jared Barnett.

TCU’s first possession was short-lived as ISU defensive back Jacques Washington picked off Boykin’s first pass.

ISU furthered its lead by hitting a 46-yard field goal for a 10-0 lead.

Boykin completed his first touchdown pass for seven yards to tailback Aundre Dean with 1:50 left in the first quarter.

With about a minute left in the first, Barnett connected with Lenz for a 74-yard touchdown pass. But the extra point by kicker Edwin Arceo was no good, making the game 16-7.

Tailback B.J. Catalon fumbled twice in the first half, once at the ISU’s 37-yard line and the other at the TCU 3-yard line.

TCU was the only team to score in the second quarter with a 38-yard field goal by kicker Jaden Oberkrom.

Barnett finished 7-for-14 passing for 153 yards.
